Bypassing 'onward travel tickets'
Hi
Currently collecting visa information etc for a trip up through East Timor / Indonesia / Malaysia / India from Australia. I keep running into the 'onward flight / exit evidence required upon entry' headache. I hit the same problem with last years trip to the states, basically I had to purchase an open ticket out of the country even though I was going to ride the bike out. I then canceled the ticket at a later date and sought a refund. Will I have to have a demonstrated exit for every country???? For example freighting from Malaysia to India would be another possible opportunity for them to require it. I realise a carnet will cover this problem bike wise and I intend to call the embassies tomorrow to ask directly, but I'm curious, what does everyone else do? Kind regards Bigfoot. |
You tell them you are exiting overland .. use the carnet as evidence .. more evedence .. maps, route, plan of places you want to go/dates etc ..
For Maliasia to India you will need some way of geting there .. overland is not on .. so an air ticket will do that .. |
