Colombia for December: tips welcome
Hello fellow intrepid travellers!
For the December leg of our Alaska to Argentina trip, Nick and I are intending to stay in Colombia. We are going to be visited by some friends and family so thought we should plan a little more than we would otherwise. We are arriving in Cartagena 25th November on the Stahlratte and need to set up some places to be so people without motorcycles can come and visit with us for a while. Any thoughts and recommendations? For the first week we are meeting friends who have booked accommodation without secure parking (I know, I tried to explain that I care more about that than anything else but...!) Any recommendations for a safe place to park the bike for a week in Cartagena? Looking forward to your ideas. Best, Ivanka |
Colombia
A good place to stay in Bogota is the Cranky Croc. Parking on site, hostel, Andy the owner is fantastic.
In San Augustin in the south look up Miller Bravo at Miler Motos in town...good mechanic and big help and great riding over there from Popayan. Of course Mike at Casa Blanca in Cali. enjoy Colombia Zig |
Safe parking
Parking should never be a problem anywhere in Central or South America. Staff manhandled my bike into the lobby of every hotel where I stayed - advantages of riding a 125 HAH!!! Though most hotels had a plank for the entrance steps.
