convoy from dakhla to nouadhibou still possible?
 

I plan to drive a 2WD from Europe to Senegal throught the Atlantic route. Several books say that you can join a convoy from dakhla to nouadhibou. However, lately I was told that this convoy doesn't go anymore. Does anyone know if this is true and is it safe to do it on your own? (assuming that there are enough visible tracks to follow, so you avoid the mines fruther from the road)

this convoy doesn't go anymore since february 2002.

No problem at all to do it on your own.

I just finished this trip. the only thing i would recommend is getting a guide. Once through the desert avoide the ferry from Muaritania to senegal go to the bridge boarder crossing!!
