Would like to know is it possible to cross from Ukraine to Russia nowadays? ?

If so what is the best Route through Ukraine if I will be riding from Budapest to Kiev then to Moscow. ...?

Yes it is.

Anywhere out of Luhansk / Donetsk regions will be possible to cross.

There are two major E - W crossing now; on the highway heading NE from Hlukhiv towards Oryel and the highway heading N from Kharkiv to Belgorod. There are a number of smaller crossings. Last year I crossed a small border east of Sumy, but the road there was appalling!

You can also go through Belarus, lovely country.
