Crossing Mozambique South to North
 

After finishing my overland I was thinking of returning North Via MOZ and Tanzania.
Does anybody know if it is possible to cross into Tanzania at Mtwara and what are the conditions of the roads this time of the year?
Anything special to know before starting the trip? I am driving a Defender.

The Mtwara ferry wasn't running last year, and I suspect it still isn't, but possibly someone who has been through more recently can confirm.

The Unity bridge at Negomane has been open since mid 2010.

The road on the Tanzanian side to Negomane should be fine in the wet season. The road on the Moz side of the bridge is perfect Chinese tarmac for 5 kms - after that it is quite soft in parts with some "bulldust", but I expect it should be passable in the wet season.
