As a start you could read, Mi Moto Fidel by Christopher P. Baker. See the Horizons book section below.
http://www.horizonsunlimited.com/books/books2.shtml It was a "fair" book. It's a few years old so some of the travel restrictions may have changed. The book is a social and political comment. He was not a motorcyclist and did not want to bother to learn anything about his bike. Which he trashed. |
Thanks John
Red the book. Byside all the "nice" descriptions of his "contacts" on the island, the "getting there section" is quiet a bit frustrating. If one imagines, that the bike gets shaken arround one the deck of some kind scrap heap ;-).... I'm not sure if a "modern" bike would survive things like that.. Got in contact with a swiss forwarder in between which sounds very competent in such "delicate" shipping-orders than bringing an European bike to Cuba and back. Will of course keep this board informed about further progress! Cuba si! René |
Dr Greg Fraiser wrote a great article on riding in cuba. I am thinking of a trip there down the road. have you considered bring in a cheap used 125-250cc bike , trade it for cigars on your way out. instead of hassling with a big dollar MC. just a thought.
