ferry Cyprus to Israel
Hela,
I am planning a trip from Belgium to south Africa later this year, august till ± Christmas. I prefer to ride through Turkey and then by Cyprus into Israel or Egypt. Does anyone know people in Cyprus so I can get more information/confirmation for the ferry from Limassol to Alex.Egypt or Haifa.Israel. The ferry-site is not very clear about the possibilities. Does anyone has experience when get Israel-visa-stamps in passport and then discussion/problems when getting into country’s like Jordan, Egypt, Soudan etc. Where am I not welcome anymore when there are Israel-stamps in passport. Thanks sofar, Saluutjes Rens. |
Lorenso,
We're in the same position, when do you plan to be in Cyprus? We're also looking for a boat from Cyprus to Syria or Lebanon or Egypt (but not Israel) otherwise we won't be able to visit the other countries. I understand from the website of Akgunler that the route Famagusta (Northern Cyprus) and Latakia (Syria) is closed until October 2011. I have written to Akgunler twice and still no reply. :( I would appreciate also if anyone has any information on this route or an alternative ferry route from Cyprus. Failing that the only option I see is to take the ferry from KYRENIA Cyprus to TASUCU Turkey. Please let us know if you get further in your investigations. |
getting into africa
Hello turbocharger,
I do not have any news for the ferry. The only one is with Salamis from Cyprus to Haifa, but then indeed the Visa in your pasport. I heard it is possible that you get a second (dutch) pasport if you can explaine that you have to be in conflicted countries (with Israel) for work, maybe I'll try that, and use the sec pasport only in Israel. Another thought was flying the bike from Antalya to Cairo, but I did not investigated that, I'll contact some Turky's friends for that. Keep me informed, if you have some news, I'll do the same. Ferry to Israel
Hi Lorenso,
I have no experiences about that at all, but I am planning a trip to Akaba in some years when I will be retired, so this is what I already have found out: 1. A. Rosenfeld Shipping Ltd., Israel 2. http://salamisinternational.com/new/...d=12&Itemid=75 3. http://www.mafratours.eu/4520.html 4. Send a mail to your government department of foreign affairs and ask for problems which might occur in some states when you have an israeli inscription in your passport: especially in Sudan. Entering Egypt or Jordan should be no problem. But you better ask for the up-to-date-situation... 5. Wadi Rum 6. I hope I could help you a little bit :-) Ralf |
