Finally heading to Europe
 

This time last year we were getting ready to book ferries and getting everything ready to head to Morocco in the middle of may via France and Spain, but on the 25th of feb I had a big off putting me self out of action for the rest of the year. So the trip was canceled. A year on the planning has started agin this time heading for Italy to do the Stelvio Pass, so im looking for a little insite on roads,camp sites and places to see along the way that don't turn up on your normal search. Hears a rough idea of the map,

I would make a slight detour and spend a day or so at Lake Geneva. There is a nice camp-site a few miles out of town on the banks of lake Geneva stayed a few times > ( Pointe à la Bise Chemin des Marèches, 1222 Collonge-Bellerive, Switzerland. The local authorities encourage public transport, so you get free pass for the bus which you can catch 2 mins walk from camp-site into town. Day and night life is fab around the lake. Then head along the shore of the lake and cross into Italy via Great St Bernard pass Aosta direction on from there. Great ride.

Sounds good will add that in, is it far from the town

not far at all 5 miles. I did walk from camp site to town the first time. Won't do that again though ! doh Take the bus :thumbup1:

Unless you have a reason to visit Paris its worth avoiding. The traffic is difficult. As a general observation, I would stay in the Alps and head west rather than heading south of Verona. That route through Italy is congested unless you have the time for the small roads. The Italian coast route is busy on motorway and slow off it. Italian driving is not the best.....Though if you have time, any Italian city on your route is worthy of a few days sightseeing.
