from India to Thailand
 

Hi,

I'm plannig a trip from Brussels to Saigon overland (mostly by train). But there is a problem: the border of India to Burma is closed and I'm wondering how I could reach Thailand without flying?
Could anyone inform me if it is possible to travel by boat from the andaman/nicobar islands to Thailand?
Does anyone know of an alternative route from India to Thailand?

A friend of mine just got back from the Andamans. The only way to reach them is by boat from India (3 days each way). You cannot continue your journey on to Thailand (I think this is for political reasons).

Your only overland route is of course through China. However they won't let you take your own vehicle across the border.
