Getting to alaska - from russia
 

Hi guys,

I’m planning a ride from London next year heading east (through the stans / mongolia / russia eventually ending up in the US. Originally wanted to transition from magadan in Russia to Anchorage in Alaska but understand this isn’t possible anymore? So my question is whats the best way of getting to Alaska from either Russia / Korea / Japan etc?

My aim is to pass through Mongolia so need to decide which best route to take afterwards that will allow me to get to Alaska…

Hey hey!

Nice route there! We're looking into something similar with a unimog in the next few years and I have briefly started seeing how it's possible to cross the great blue too.

From my understanding, your best bet is to head towards Vvaldivostok in Russia. From here there are a variety of RORO's to Japan and from there it's possible to freight them or alternatively you can pop ship them straight from Vvaldivostok to Vancouver or similar.

I heard shipping is possible from alaska to South Korea and the other way.

Then Korea to vladivostok!

Sory to but in , but does anybody know if it's possible to ship from Vladivostok to South Korea and then onto Vietnam ? If so any idea how much it would cost ?
