Going South to Patagonia from Peru - Route Advice
 

Hey,

I am in Arequipa and are looking to head south to Patagonia via Santiago. Which route would you advise taking? Would you go down Chile to Santiago via the PanAm and through the desert or would you cross into Argentina and go down ruta 40 and across into chile near mendoza?
