Just tried 'avoid highways' :nono: but it takes 5 hours longer

It's a bit outdated but a few years ago when it was more or less impossible to go down the western route this was more or less the main route.

Google and West Coast
 

You can get directions Tanger to Tema, Ghana but even then some 'shortcuts', probably easier to do it in sections and I guess it would still work to Windhoek.

Google say 5828km to Tema in 3 days, 7 hours but experience is more like 17 days, allowing for delays like waiting for visa at Rabat.
