We intend to ride 2 up through Guatamala, and have heard about the new law which prohibits riding with a pillion. Has anyone had any experience or heard anything of this. I have also read that female pillions are OK, any comments on this are apreciated.

We are currently riding 2 up in Guatemala and have had no problems. All riders have a vest that shows their number plate and their plate is also on their helmets. Think this is just an urban thing though.

Have seen many people 2 up.

Thanks for the information it seems from what you say and another contributor has said that the law is only being enforced around Guatamala City. So we will by-pass there.
