I realy want to drive to south africa but! after being in contact with the RAC it turns out I cant get a carnet cause I'm not from the uk. The plan was to drive through europe-turkey-syria-jordan-eygpt-sudan etc.. from what I read on this board I can get as far as jordan without one. does anyone have any idea's or should I just get to jordan ditch the car and go by rail and bus?

Why not just get a carnet from NZ? Easily done, no problem.

As for ditching it, it's your money!

Im planning on buying a car in the uk, it costs to much to ship it from nz to the uk. unless I can get a nz carnet for a uk car?

Unless the laws have changed very recently,
I wouldn't have thought there would be a problem?
I'm on a SA passport and received a carnet for a UK bike from the RAC in Feb last year.
