Information needed on Carnet
 

Hello All,

I am in the process of planning a trip to africa and I am at the point of organising a Carnet. Before I go through the hassle of applying for one and sorting out all of the necrssary insurance I wondered if anyone one here could shed some light on what I will be expected to pay. I am running a a fairly tight budget and my bike is an R1200GSA 2010 model. Do I need to have a massive deposit for security or can I take out an insurance policy to cover this? If so how much for that?! Any information about what others have paid and there experiences would be greatly appreciated.
