baltic tour 2005
Toured Scandinavia, Baltic States, Russia and Northern Europe. No worries above the Arctic Circle with regard to petrol, just fill up when you can. Camping shouldn't be a problem, although I did go earlier in the year than you are planning. Wild camping is permitted in Norway (some restrictions). Ferrywise I went via Esbjerg in Danmark, but Newcastle-Bergen/Stavanger/Kristiansand are all possibilities. Not sure if the Aberdeen/Lerwick-Bergen ferry is still running at that time. Google Smyril for that boat.
Just make sure your waterproofs are in good shape. Mind you, Norway looks great, even in the rain. |
