Is a Carne Required for Senegal & Mauritania
 

Hello

I am planning to ship my Landy and trailer to Dakar from Durban RSA, then travel via Mauritania and Morocco to Europe. Does Senegal and Mauritania want to see a Carne?

I'm looking at going the opposite way but have the same question. Did you ever get a definitive answer?

YOu need a carnete in Senegal if your vehicle is older then 8 years.
For Mauritania you do not need a carnet but you need to buy a insurance paper at the border.

This is the same useless map that's published by all the auto clubs. It's utter nonsense and totally misleading. How can we stop them from spreading such crap ? I suspect there are some legal reasons..
