Jordan - Egypt - Sudan
Looking on some quick options if I wont go to algeria :-(
If I travel from jordan-egypt there is this tiny little bit of israel and when I will travel to Sudan, that might be a problem in my passport because of ISrael stamp. Can this be done a different way ore how is it done by all the eastern riders?? ------------------ CU under the Cu Frank http://www.crossing-africa.com .:. The Ultimate Travel on a Yamaha XT600Z |
There is a car ferry which runs from Aqaba (Jordan) to Nuweiba (Egypt) which means you won't get the Israeli stamp. Takes about five hours.
I'm not sure if an Israeli stamp is a problem for Sudan anyway - however you're better not to have an Israeli stamp in your passport - if your plans change again at least you have more options. Ollie |
I am told that you can ask for the Israeli stamp to be put on a separate piece of paper which you can hide before entering other countries. Obviously, the neighbouring authorities can see where you came from as you approach their border crossing, but I doubt other countries would spot which border crossing you'd used and thereby deduce that you'd come via Israel.
I was told to ask for the separate piece of paper BEFORE handing over my passport. I guess it might matter whether you need a visa or not. Richard |
This is correct but Syria for one are wise to this and won't let you in if you've got an exit stamp from the corresponding border post in Jordan/Egypt. Best stay clear if you don't want hassle.

Hi, if you go to Israel then you can forget going to the Sudan, The visa is difficult enough anyway.
