List of cities where tyres can be found
 

Hi everyone,

I've been researching on where I can find new tyres on my upcoming tour through Africa, but struggled to find much info.

So I thought it would be good if we could set up a directory of places we have bought or seen tyres for sale on our trips, that can help others plan. I'm thinking the template below should work well.

Hopefully this could be a really helpful resource that will help people plan their routes safe in the knowledge that they can get some form of new rubber. All info would be helpful, but probably worth excluding Europe and N.America given tyres can pretty much be acquired anywhere.

Outside of South Africa and Namibia, there are few places to find larger adv type tires in Africa.

In West Africa, there is Toni Togo, a KTM dealer in Lome, Togo.

In East Africa, you have Jungle Junction in Nairobi, Kenya.... and a KTM dealer is nearby, like a few km away.

I've used both of the above. Believe there are a few others, but not many except in South Africa and to a lesser extent Namibia, where tires are readily available.

Best to communicate well in advance with any shop that might have tires. If they don't have what you want, they may be able to order.

Get new set of Heidenay K-60 tyres and they are going to last for 25.000 km
