London-Ghana- best route?
 

I am currently in a quandary over the best way to get to Ghana from Morocco- I am starting a work placement in Ghana in march 2010 and reckoned spending a couple of months driving there would be a good idea. (biking not an option due to complete lack of experience of anything offroad)
Am a complete novice- this would be first long exped.
Has anyone made this trip recently? If so, do you have any tips as to availability of fuel, ease of passage etc?

The simplest and least hassle route would be Morocco - Mauritania - Mali - Burkina Faso - Ghana. There are some recent posts about this route in the last two months if you search the HUBB.

On a motorbike there is definately no need for a carnet on this route, although recent reports suggest that you might need a carnet for Ghana if you enter with a car. Aside from that, there arent any real hassles with borders or road conditions following this route.
