Mongolia - Best route for beginning of June 2014
 

Hi all,

I'm seeking some route advice for Mongolia. I'm planning to get to Mongolia around the 2/3rd June. I was planning to take the Southern route in to Ulaanbaatar because I thought the North and Central routes may still be quite wet and therefore muddy. However, I've just been through GBAO Tajikistan and went down to Wakhan corridor. I thought the roads down in the Wakhan were horrible, they were just bone shattering washboard or soft sand from Shitkharv back to the M41. So basically I'm keen to avoid washboard as much as possible but I'm conscious of lots of mud and river crossings given that I'm alone and it's very difficult for me to pick my bike up.

Any (constructive) advice would bee great.

Too Young For A Mid Life Crisis

I know some people are probably reading this thinking about how many posts there are on Mongolia route choices; but all of those refer to July and August. I've started a new one in case anyone has any useful info regarding current conditions or the sort of conditions which can be expected in early/mid June.
