Multiple Entry (more than twice) into Russia

Hi,

I'm planning a route for the Mongol Rally next year and I'm wondering if it is possible to get one double entry visa and one single entry visa for Russia at the same time to avoid the high cost of a multiple entry business visa?

Anyone had any experience with this?

Hi there. For the UK traveler at least it tends to work like this: If you apply for a double entry, and try to apply for single entry before the end of the first visas expiry date, then the first visa (and any others linked to that passport number will automatically be cancelled)

So your only hope would be to try and get a double entry visa, and once it was expired to then apply for another one. Due to the Russians 90 days within 180 day period it would be possible. However, you can't apply for the second visa outwith your home country. Soooo unless you flew from Mongolia to home, to apply, then back to ride out.

Basically I don't see how it'd be possible. I've looked at the issue. I even have 2 passports and tried to get a visa issued on each one. Not possible!

From experience, what you want to do is not possible.

Normally the multi-entry visa is only available AFTER you have had either a single entry visa or double entry visa. I also tried to reapply for a double entry while my previous visa was still valid. The consulate will cancel the old visa before issuing the new one.

These things are most likely done based on reciprocity. Russians have the same type of hassle for Europe.
