Peddars Way
We had great fun driving the Peddars way (which is open to cars and bikes if you are inclined). Not sure what you are riding, but a couple of nice fords (near Castle Acre I think) as well as some great scenery. This is very near your start I think.
Although if you are doing it ten days this might not be the sort of thing you are considering ... |
hi yea i have rode pedders was several times luckilly before they closed parts off to bikes its not worth doing now as you really have to go out your way to get round the closed off parts
|
Aberdeenshire (Moray) have some fantastic coastal camp sites. We love both Banff & Portsoy, but we think Portsoy has the edge for location. We have some excellent roads in this part of the world as well if you get this length.
If the midgies like to bit yu then you would be best to stay on the East Coast, but for scenery head to the West Coast in particularly Applecross in Wester Ross its just FANTASTIC, that goes for the roads & the camp site. |

Hi Matt,
Just got back after a week up there, fantastic! Campsites are all biker friendly, but especially Applecross and Scourie, great sites and cheap, with stunning views. |
Anti-Clockwise
I've just done a anti-clockwise route two weeks ago and even though I've lived in Scotland for 10 years now It had to be rated as one of the best trips ever.!!
Edinburgh- Aviemore- Wick- (John '0 Groats+ Dunnit Head)- Thurso- Ullapool- Applecross (Alpine road)- Fort William- Edinburgh. Good campsites en route and the roads from Thurso to the end of the Applecross alpine route will blow your mind. Not many great scenery pictures as I was riding the heck out of the bike and having WAAAY too much fun! |
