Northern italy via paris - routes?

On June 17th I'm visiting friends in Paris then riding to Cortina/Villabasa in N Italy.
Got to be in Villabasa (Dolomites) lunchtime on the 20th so about 2.5 days riding.

Any route suggestions? I wasn't intending to buy a vignette to ride the Swiss highways.

Cheers

I can't suggest a particular route but can recommend Michelin paper maps for planning, they have scenic routes marked in green and I try to follow these whenever I can.

I think it would actually be less expensive for you to take the most direct route (via Switzerland), spending the CHF 40 (£28) on the Swiss vignette, than it would be to take a longer route around the southwest of Switzerland.

Not only that, the roads in Switzerland are in great condition, and the scenery is superb along the route that would best suit you, that being to enter CH in the north, near Delemont, and exit at the far southeast, towards Bolzano.

You will more than make up the cost of the vignette in fuel savings.

Michael
