Norway - West coast
Hi all,
I'm planning a ride up the west coast of Norway from Kristiansand to Tromso in the summer. Everything I've read/been told so far is that the whole coast is spectacular, but are there any 'must ride' roads, or must see places? Any suggestions welcome. Vic |
I heard the East coast is better. :innocent:
Just to start you off with the obvious: Gerainger Trollstigen …. |
The Atlanitc road - amazing bridges.
Take the coast road and ferries north of Trondheim rather than the faster inland road. Don't miss the Lofoten Islands. |
From what I've seen of Norway, you'd have a spectacular trip no matter WHAT road you took !!

I'll hook you up with a route of your entire trip soon. Just have to get behind the computer. You'll have a fantastic trip, even if the weather turns bad.
Next 14 days are looking good all over the country, so hop on that bike! |
Had to split the route in two, since there were so many custom points:
1. Kristiansand to Stjørdal: https://goo.gl/maps/CVEIm 2. Stjørdal to Tromsø: https://goo.gl/maps/OVf5Z This will take you along some seriously awesome roads! I could write a long essay about all of them, but will instead guide you to these websites for more info on them: National Tourist Routes in Norway - www.nasjonaleturistveger.no - You'll drive heaps of these! Google Translate - Tindevegen http://www.visitnorway.com/uk/where-...atlantic-road/ - The Atlantic Road Kystriksveien - the coastal route - accommodation, activities and attractions along the Nordland coastline in Norway Lofoten Highlights include: Ryfylke, Hardanger, Aurlandsfjell, Tindevegen, Geiranger, Trollstigen, The Atlantic Road (Atlanterhavsveien) and the costal route up Northern Norway (Rv17). And of course the Lofoten islands. The roads between Kristiansand and Tau are not familiar to me, so I simply gave you the quickest route here. Have a nice trip :thumbup1::D:clap: |
Just got back from Norway - did many of the roads already mentioned plus plenty of others. Couldn't find any bad ones ....................
have a great trip ! |
