Nouakchott to Bamako
 

Hey all,

Im looking to head from Nouakchott (Mauritania) to Bamako (Mali).I will be avoiding Senegal and heading across Mauritania to the Malian border.Anyone got any info on this route I will be travelling by whatever means possible and have about 1 week to do it in.Is this possible?

I did this route in Feb this year and yes it's fairly easy to do in a week.
NKT to Ayoun el Atrous is almost all good tarmac now (a shortish section of potholes somewhere in the middle). On the Mali side things get a little more random with sandy tracks and corrugations. The last 200 kms or so to Bamako is brand new white lined tarmac though.
