Pakistan to Kyrgyzstan via China
Hello,
I am planning a bit trip for 2024 or 25, and just playing around with possible routes. Has anybody the Pakistan to Kyrgyzstan crossing of CHina lately (well just before covid). If so what was the cost, and how hard was it to organize? (Assuming I would not be able to get anybody else to cross, and I would be alone). Also if I would not cross into China, how far up on the Pakistani side can I go? Thank you. |
I can answer the last part of your question with all the way to the border and it is worth it, the KKH is one of the world's great motorcycling roads even if you have to turn around at the top, hopefully someone will be along to answer the rest of your question.

I don't want to start an argument here, but wondering what make you
to know more about China travel restrictions than the local guys? Assuming is not very beneficial on travel plans... |

As far as I know, China is open to citizens and residents only, and even then requires going through a ridiculous 21 day quarantine. Cross border trade is at a almost standstill between Central Asia and China (goods must be thoroughly disinfected and no person can cross into China as far as I know). If the Chinese don't care to open up for trade, for sure they don't care about a handful of overland tourists. I would forget making plans about China until it is demonstrably open to cross-border travellers. EO |
