Paris to rome
 

Hi new to here. I'm looking for a route between Paris and Rome. Just done 2500 miles around Spain but new to Italy going in July 2017 so need to book hotels soon I do no more than 200 miles a day how much time will be lost to summer traffic ect I have 20 days to tour any routes would be grateful Ivahandle

Le Route des Grandes Alpes from Thonon-les-Bains to Menton is a great way to head south. You should be fine in France in July; busy but not gridlocked. August is the month for French vacation traffic.

There must be some fantastic routes down through Tuscany and Umbria but I'm not an expert.

Why book hotels so far ahead?

Ps. Be careful in Paris. You must give way to the right, even on roundabouts.
