Road from Serbia to Syria
I planning driwe to Syria at maj-juni, I am planning on using a mixture of camping and youth hostels, so what would you reccomend for me (good hostels in Turkey and Syria, the best route, etc, etc). Is safety for wild camping in my tent besides ways in these counties? I looking for accomodation, also. If somebody had similary trip, I would like to hear their opinion about this route! Thanks a lot.

Hi there,
Am in Syria at the moment and have made a couple of previous bike trips to Turkey. You'll find lots of campsites in Turkey, pretty much all really good and cheap. There's no problem free camping either out in the countryside. As for Syria, hardy any campsites but free camping should be fine. I haven't done any on this trip as it's still a bit cold at the mo. Probably best not to camp out alone anywhere close to border zones in Syria but if you are worried about safety at all there are lots of bedouin camps around and you can ask to pitch up close to them and you'll be fine. As for places to visit - that depends what you like to do but for me the best experiences have been on the minor roads off the beaten track. Cheers Richard |

Thanks a lot Richard. I would like as you to ride on minor roads off the beaten track. What`s your recommend for nice places in Turkey, nice routes. What the best route from Turkey borders (Edyrne) to Sirya borders! What about service places in Turkey (is problems for parts), and do somebody knows for moto-meetings at may-juni around Turkey? Thanks againand good run!:thumbup1: :scooter:

Turkey camp and road
Bush camp in Turkey is no problem, but we choosed camp sites because of the shower. But the hostels are not expansive, but I can't say the same about the fuel cost.
From Edirne to Syrian border, if you have time, go near the seaside. If you can go not on the main roads, but it depends of your time. If you visit some historical sites be prepared to spend a few hours at each, and Turkey has a lot! Safe road! Szabi |
