Hiya,
Let me know how you get i want to ride from the UK to Saudi any info would be helpfull as i want to leave the bike their for a year as will be working in Jeddah Steve |
That is a fantastic trip. I rode part of the way you are thinking and for me was like a good holiday after the hard one in the Stans. But I did it in the other way you are planning. I arrived Istambul from Georgia-Acerbaijan and rode to Syria through Capadoccia. Jordan, Lebanon, Israel... then I did not go into Egypt, instead of it I took a ferry from Haifa to Cypruss, crossed to the north part of the island and went back to Turkey, then rode all the shore line to Cesme, took a ferry to Kios, then another ferry to Pireus, then rode all the Greek shore line to Igumenitza and then ferry to Italy. It was one of the most beautiful trips I've ever done. Perhaps was so nice beacuse I always travel alone, but in that part of the way I picked my girlfriend in Antalia because she had summer holidays and we rode all the way to Spain visiting the old roman and greek sites she looked for. Was exhausting but wonderful.
Marenostrum Trip Holy Land Good choice. Have fun. |
Hiya,
Sounds like a plan! I've only got July and August, and am looking to go round the Med starting from the UK. I was thinking of going from Italy to Tunisia - so missing out Spain, Morocco and Nigeria - then Libya, Egypt, Israel, Jordan, Syria, Turkey, Greece... Not sure there's enough time to fit it in - haven't worked out mileage yet. How long do you reckon your route is? Miquel-Silvestre's sounds pretty good otherwise. |
