Re my message of 10.2.05, and other very valuable info on HU, many thanks. However, we are looking for help. Can anyone help re: shipping our bikes ( 2 x BMW 1150GSs) from UK to Brazil (Rio?)for Jan 06. Quotes thus far are between £1,900 - £2,700, which seem weell over the top. Any help please. + it looks as if Russia (Vladivostock is a non-starter, Russian visa last for 29 days max. (6,500+ miles in that time, and me a lwyer??)Cheers, Jimmy, London

Brazil is very expensive and difficult I am afraid. I went the other way Brazil to UK about a year ago - and it cost me about £1500 for one bike.

Most will probably agree that going to Buenos Aires is much much easier and cheaper. From BA you can be in Rio in less than a week, but don't hurry through Brazil - it is beautiful and the folks are so friendly.
