Salta or Bailoche?
 
Hi All,
Planning a 3 week trip in June or July to Argentina but undecided on which area to explore.Has any body got any "must see"routes or places,we intend to hire a bike from either Salta or Bariloche.Any info would be gratfully accepted.

both places ar great, but in june or july ymay have problems with the snow. Salta is beatifull for mototravelling with many croses to chile that ar great, for example Jama, Zico and Socompla arriving to San Pedro de atacama ( the dryest Place in the world). You will be pasing throuw this crosess at 5000 mts over the level of the sea. Good Luck

I would probably go north to Salta. Bariloche, whilst pretty, caters for big group tourism. True, July is low season (not sure how cold it could be . . ) I think Northern Argentina has more of a "South American" feel, especially from Salta there are some great rides into the Andes towards Chile, small towns and it just feels more remote.
