Second leg advice please
Greetings,
I'm planning Around the World Tour (AWT) in 2007 and am busy planning the first leg - Halifax, Nova Scotia, Newfoundland, Labrador, TransCanada, Rockies, USA, Mexico etc,etc to Argentina. Then come up the other side by shipping the bike to New Zealand, then Australia, and that's where I run out of steam. I've read on the HUBB that China is no go unless you have big bucks, which I don't, but would like to ride through Mongolia, Russia, Finland, Norway, Denmark, Germany etc and back in time for tea!!(about a year later<img>) So any suggestions as to a route between Australia and Mongolia please. Oh and if I'm riding part of what you are doing at the time, then the company would be nice. Stagbeetle |
In the same boat...
Hi Stag, I'm in Argentina now and will be flying to Australia in two weeks or so. From Melbourne or Sydney I plan to ride to Darwin. From there the bike and I will fly to Singapore. After riding to Bangkok I plan on flying from there to Mongolia, skipping China. As I get closer I'll work out the details and let you know what I find. If I make it from Bangkok to Mongolia I'll post a detailed account on the shipping page and message you when I do. Good luck! Dave.

Think your cheapest option is fly/ship to Japan and ship to Russia and ride from there?

China maybe do-able
Sorry folks been off line for a couple of weeks.:(
Back now.:thumbup1: Someone at the Belgium meeting suggested that I buy a ticket for the 2008 Olympics (even synchonised swimming:lol2: ) and use that to see if I can prise my way in. They will have to be more open then surely. Waddya think? |
