Shipped into Dakar and headed east - anyone?
 

We have been in the Americas for 3 years. Instead of shipping direct back to Europe, would be great to ship to Dakar and drive back to the UK. Has anyone shipped to Dakar? Used an agent? Drove directly north or is there more fun to be had going east or is Mali a bit tricky currently?

Also, I am still looking for the person (someone did this) who managed to ship themselves and their vehicle from Zarate (ARZAE) Argentina to Dakar, on Grimaldi – (it is easily possible to do this to Europe but Grimaldi say not Dakar). It would be greatly appreciated if anyone could point me in right direction.

Shipping no experience.

You could go East into Mali without drama, but the North or East of Mopti are not possible. That said, the border crossings from Senegal/Mali - Mali/Mauritania are quite easy and cheap, whereas you hear terrible things about the main Senegal/Mauritania (Rosso) border crossing, and I heard last year that the smaller crossing was closed for foreign vehicles now.
