Shipping the bike from Bishkek, Astana or Siberia to BKK
 

Hi,
I'm planning for a trip this summer from Europe to the Stans and Siberia, ending up in Thailand when it gets cold.
And NO, I don't want to go through India, so Nepal and Bangla Desh is also out as a shipping point.
There is one report from a guy who shipped Ulan Bataar to BKK, but that was so expensive, more than my bike is worth.

I wonder, has anybody info about airfreight from the Stans or maybe Irkutsk to Bkk (I'm flexible there)?? There is plenty of planes going for sure, looking at the millions of Russian tourists in Thailand.

I investigated shipping options in Bishkek last year - it seemed very over priced. In the end, I shipped from Tashkent instead via Uzbek Airways as it was cheaper and I think most Bishkek cargo companies go via Uzbekistan anyway. They just strapped the bike down to a pallet - no crating, no need to take the front wheel off. Was still pretty expensive.
