Singapore with Camper
Hello,
I have been researching the possibility of shipping a 4wd camper from Australia to Asia. The logical destination that would be ideal is Singapore, however when I read the importing or driving a car in Singapore government pages it says that it is not permitted. When I google around it appears that many people have shipped either from Singapore or to Singapore with a camper and driven it across the island to/from Malaysia. Now I don't particularly want to break the law, so I am wondering if there is any room in singapore for a transit visa style agreement where you can drive from the port to Malaysia or visa versa. Or do people just take a gamble. Interested to know what people's experience and thoughts on the topic are. |
Does it have to be Singapore?
Because I think Malasya is more practical and doesnt require to break a law. |
Singapore
I shipped a Toyota Landcruiser to Singapore in 2016 and drove to Europe with no hassles.
But if I was to do this again I would skip Singapore and just ship direct to Malaysia. You may also want to check Thailand as I hear they have made some changes to entering Thailand. Safe Travels |

What they're probably saying, is that you cannot privately import a car into Singapore as a Singaporean resident, put local plates on it, and drive it around Singapore indefinitely. What you're doing is not import - you're just driving a vehicle THROUGH Singapore, in and out, in a short period, as a visitor. That should be allowed. |
