Sochi - Trabzon Ferry... any info, advise...
 

... Hi, Im just looking for some info on the Sochi - Trabzon ferry. I know its running, though by its own schedule. But can anybody advise me re: :helpsmilie:

1> Rough cost of a ticket for 2 ppl & 1 van?
2> Is it a big RORO or what, will I fit a high top Hiace van on it?
3> Going from Turkey to Russia, whats the customs / border situation like?
4> Is it safe, talking about getting my van smashed in for stuff?
5> Is there bingo onboard?
6> Anything else?

Hi

I used the ferry in July this year.

• cost me about £240 for motorbike and rider ( 1 way)
• it is a RORO, there were lorries on board
• Turkey customs were a bit long and boring, i had a Green Card which sped things up, about 3 hours mainly outside in 40 degree heat.
• Safe, yes
• No bingo but free meal
• Very Very basic
• only sails every other day
• if you are looking for accomadation in Sochi try out near the airport along the coast
