Solo expedition to Lake Baikal

My wife and I are planning an expedition to Lake Baikal. My first question is very simple: is the war between Russia and Ukrainia an obstacle for overlanders? I mean: is it possible to get a visa and cross the border with a with a vehicle with EU registration plate? Some engineers and a prospector regularly working in Russia telle me there's no problem at all. What I would like is to conf¡rm that with recent european travellers to Russia (where we have been three times already (in 2008, 2013 and 2017).
