South / Central America - Recommended Maps
 

Morning!

Early stage planning for a potential pan american highway trip, on my way to Stanfords later this week to get some maps. Looking for something with the detail of the Michelin 741, 746 and 745 Africa maps. Any recommendations?

Rough guides
 

Rough Guides make really good maps, waterproof and with lots of tourist spots marked and good clear detail.

I bought Reisse maps, same as the Rough Guides, based on the world mapping project.

By far the best South America map I found was a magazine sized atlas by Firestone I bought at a news stand in Salta Argentina. I was told that Toyota do one as well, but I never found that one.
