South to Central America
Hi all, last year i brought a zanella 250 enduro in Argentina and rode from Rosario to Carlos de Barilochi via Cordoba and Mendoza. Im now thinking i would like to try and ride it to mexico.
So basically I'm after as much info as poss while i consider this trip. So... how difficult would it be on a 250, what are the problems you may come across at boarders, what and where is a no go area, or places to be careful of. I'm fairly new to this although i have recently completed a 6.7k mile trip from vancouver to LA on my own bike that i shipped from the uk, solo, and am now hungry for more. Any advice would be great. Thanks. |
Is the bike foreign registered or Argentina registered.
If the latter then you may not even get out of Argentina. If foreign registered then depends on what paperwork you have |
The bike is argentine registered, when i was there in march, i had a card that gave me permission to ride the bike and i was under the impression that as it was argentine registered i could take it out of the country. I will look into that further.
Getting parts may be a big problem! |
Pretty sure you won't be able to take it out of Argentina within the first few years of ownership even if you do legally own it, but that might not apply if you are a legal resident of Argentina.
xfiltrate may be along to give definite info |
