Southampton UK to Serbia - off road
Hi all,
I'm finally getting to live the dream I've had for 10 years of an extended bike trip around Europe this spring, really excited about it! I will start from the UK and first stop is Serbia to pick my pillion up. I want to ride as much off road as possible passing through France, Belgium, Germany, Austria, Slovenia, Croatia, Bosina then Serbia. So, a few questions: 1) Has anyone done this? 2) If so any routes / geocaches available? I have a Garmin Montana 680. 3) I've tried Wikiloc and dangerous roads for planning but wondered if there is a less time consuming way of putting an off road route together. Will be on a Honda Africa Twin 2016 model. Thanks! |
+1 for this
Will be doing roughly the same route in reverse in April this year on a 2006 KLR650. Would be really interested in off road suggestions also. |

I will just suggest areas for offroad riding, can't share gpx files because we're doing expedition tours from next year. Croatia: Gorski kotar area - you can make connection from Slovenia; Velebit mountain range + Pljesivica + Dinara Bosnia: From Dinara go to Bosnia, visit mountain lakes like Ramsko, Blidinje, across mountains of Prenj, Cvrsnica, and go to Sarajevo. Riding around the city on the nearby mountains is Amazing. Montenegro: Durmitor area + Tara canyon ; also worth of noting is area with the border of Albania, lot's of nice small glacial lakes and nice open planes for riding, vistas are amazing. Albania: Teth national park, warmest people in Europe you will ever meet that's for sure. Enjoy your ride, and post some pics :thumbup1: If passing by Zagreb, stop by for a bier , we're known as lighthouse in Balkans for motorcycle travelers at Lobagola B&B | design bed & breakfast in the center of Zagreb br Dooby |
