Which STAN country to visit for a motorcycle tour 7-10days
 
Hello,

What STAN country do you propose to fly in and rent a motorcycle and do a roundtrip for 7-10 days? What is the latest time during fall when still managable from wheather point of view. Prefer mountains , offroad no problem and I'm quite nomadic.
Made my basic research and know the pro's and cons and diffs between the countries but some direct experience coould help. Initially narrowed myself to Kyrgysystan, Uzbekistan and Tajikistan.

I do not know much about Kyrgyskstan, Uzbek or Tajik but I have been living in Pakistan for the past year and it is a great place to come ride. You have the KKH and all the beautiful mountain areas. You can fly into Islamabad and either get a bike from there and head up or try to fly to Gilgit or Skardu (flights get cancelled a lot due to weather) and pick up a bike there. Either way you would want to probably spend more than 7 days!

Bear in mind the Kyrgyzstan-Tajikistan border is closed and there is no firm date for re-opening. That kinda cuts down your options.

My suggestion is contact Dave at www.zorromoto.com as he is in Osh and rents out bikes. I'm sure he'll have some good first hand suggestions for a one-week ride.

There is also the option of https://silkoffroadtours.com based Almaty.

With such a small amount of time, I would say Kyrgyzstan is the only country where you could get from the capital into the mountains for a few days and return with a feeling of having seen some of the country. In Tajikistan you could go up to the Fan Mountains but you would not have time to see much (or anything) of the Pamir.
