Tour of the Alps from Monaco

Does anyone have a route for a circular ride of the alps 2/3 weeks starting from Monaco?
or can anyone advise where i could possibly download one from?

I would appreciate any information.

You could try looking at the driving segments listed on the Ultimate Drives website - Top 10 Roads : Driving Routes : Greatest Roads in Europe: View now with Ultimate Drives You could put together a loop to incorporate the shorter drives that they have listed.

I did a four-week loop through the Swiss and Austrian Alps in the summer, but started in the UK, crossing to Dunkirk, so our route probably won't be much use to you.

You could do worse than start with the Route des Grandes Alpes. It starts in Menton, so not far from Monaco, and takes you to Lac Leman. It's 680 (ish) km but with the cols, a few side trips etc it could take up 3-4 days. Website and info here Home

Are you looking for asphalt or offroad?
I can send you some tracks for GPS if you can use them. There is some great roads between Monaco and Switzerland.

I was thinking about a bit of both. I have GPS and facilities and it would be great if you could send me some routes that would be great.

A lot of information in 'Motorcycle Journeys through the Alps and beyond' by John Herman.

Fifth edition due to be published soon and is available for pre-order on Amazon. The fourth edition is available but Amazon is showing some pretty whacky pricing for it :thumbup1::thumbup1::thumbup1:

stay in Menton, much cheaper than silly expensive Monaco. Brilliant place for riding north of there. I have bit of video from there, brief but still my favourite place for biking in the world. In fact I'd move there if I could afford to. Have fun!

Hi, highly recommend Route de Grande Alpes, fantastic roads and can be made even more fun by including some trail riding such as Col du Tende, Tunnel de parpaplion, assesria, Somelier and my personal fav Mount Jafferau. Andy

The Grande Alpes looks fantastic and I will be incorporating that into my route for sure. I fancy sailing to Santander or Bilbao to do the Pyrenees then along the South coast to start the Grande Alps from Menton and then continue the alps before heading home via North Sea ferries to Hull

Roll on next year

Don't suppose you have any GPS routes or further info for the off road stuff do you?
