west or east route?
Hi,
Imho you can drive both routes safely, provided you would stay out of the known conflict areas such as Northern Mali, South Sudan, CAR, to name just a few. What the best route is, is up to you: define "best". Quickest, most comfortable, best scenery, national parks, big five, sealed or unsealed roads, visa puzzle, culture⦠I decided to go down the west route and up the east, because the west route is generally considered the more difficult (so the 2nd part would be a bit more relaxed). I am in Liberia now, crossing to Ivory Coast in the next few days, and I can only say that it's been a fantastic journey so far! No safety issues and very, very friendly people! Enjoy the preps! Cheers, Gee |
On each path are travellers on their way.
Here a list of travellers on the westroute of africa: Trans-Africa: Gerade Unterwegs... Here some travellers on the eastroute: 4x4tripping: Rund um die Anreise auf der Ostroute von Afrika Read some fresh experiences and decide by yourself if and what you will do. There are many overlanders ob their way (what not mean that there is no risk) Surfy |
