UK to China 2015
 

Hi all,

So, I'm going to be asking a lot of daft / trivial / not-so-trivial questions so I can plan my route, and get my visas sorted for my planned trip to China.

I have 3 months to get there, and then ship the bike back and fly home. I'm setting off 29th May 2015.

Has anyone successfully ridden a motorbike solo (not part of an organised tour) through India to Nepal, through Tibet and on to mainland China? This is the dream, but it's unlikely...

My current proposed route is;

China (Tibet, Qinghai, Gansu, Inner Mongolia, Beijing)

Through India yes, I´ve done it, just need a carnet to get in (and the same goes for Pakistan).

Through China, I haven´t done that, and it appears, that it could easily cost a really astronomical sum of money, especially for a solo biker. Check out for example this thread in Southern Asia-section:

So, after digging around for a bit, I've sketched up a rough time-line of countries.

UK 5
Ukraine 4
Russia 5
Kazakhstan 14
Uzbekistan 5
Turkmenistan 5
Iran 7
Pakistan 7

Bangladesh 7
Thailand 7
China 7

I've got a total of 94 days to be away. I can't wangle any more from work.

How does this sort of time-scale look as far as you guys are concerned?
