Vancouver to Argentina
 

Looking for some advice on general route plans up to Guatemala, I'll be meeting up with somebody there in Xela I think.
I need to go to Sacramento first to fix up my bike.
Then to Merida to visit family, then south.

I was thinking east from Sacramento in the USA, south somewhere in Texas, road recommendations would be nice, I'd prefer to avoid Monterrey, if going around would be easier, I don't like or need big cities mostly.

Trip is going to be my typical rolling mess, but this time I'll have a front fender at least.
I'm looking to make time up until Merida at least, so paved would probably be best, I'll be riding a 79 cx500 custom.
