Vorkuta, anyone been recently
 

Hi just wondering what the roads are like getting to Vorkuta Northern Urals, as far as I can tell the Tar runs out Ukhta and the area is serviced by the rail line

The all-weather road (I don't believe it is paved beyond Ukhta) goes to Usinsk, but not to Vorkuta. To reach Vorkuta independently there is only the winter road (Nov/Dec to Mar/Apr), which splits and goes up to Naryn-Mar. But it's a huge dead-end.

I was hoping to drive from Salekhard to Vorkuta alongside the railway but there is no winter road, so I took the Ob ice road down to Priobye.
