Wales South to North - where to stop off?
Hi - hope you can help.
I'm planning to take my daughter on a (1st time fer her) m/c trip on my GS1200Adv. Since we live in Bristol I'm going to take her to Wales - South, Mid and North - Cardiff, Black Mountains and on northward. Trouble is I don't know where to stop off in terms of scenic places. As a starter, I am guessing at:- Wye Valley Cardiff (?) Head of the Valleys Black Mountains Tregaron – harness racing Rhayader – Birds of Prey Cwmystwyth – ? Ponterwyd – ? Pistyll Rhaeadr – waterfall ... Snowdonia ... Errr... We'll camp/B&B somewhere near our stop off points and when we reach North Wales, we'll meander back to the South via the coast. I'm sure she'll love it! Has anyone got any pointers about must see places North of the Black Mountains scenic wise? Thanks |
Instead of going to Cardiff why not go up the Wye valley to Monmouth, great road, then on to Brecon and your planned route from there?

Yeah, planning to drop down to Cardiff after Usk (want to go to Tiger Bay). Just a detour really.
