hello all
would like to know steps to buy a motorbike in Thailand if i hold tourist visa
and best shop ,place to buy a bike like Honda CRF 250 or XR 250 ?

You will need a certificate of recidency. Normally relatively easy to get but it can be a PITA to get a hold of sometimes. Get your landlord or the guesthouseowner where you are staying to write a document stating that you live there, take this letter to the nearest Immigration office and ask for a certificate of recidency.

When you have this certificate its easy peacy, when you find a bike you want to buy you take it to the local land transport office together with the seller, or you get a signed copy of his ID-card and you make the transition of owners there and voila, youre the new owner of a bike!

You havw to wait for new license plates which in some provinces are months, but you can still ride the bike legally in Thailand if you keep all paperwork on with you. You cant take it abroad before you get new license plates.

To get a recidency sertificate can take some time but it can also be done quickly but usually involves some tea-money.
Getting new plates can definetively take some time. It took 2,5 months to get new plates for my thainplated bike. But this differs from province to province. And its legal to ride in the country before you get the new plates as long as you keep the paperwork from the buying process with you.
