Honda CT125 availability Thailand
Yes that not particularly old chestnut, I am planning a winter get away and one combination of destination and bike that comes to mind is Thailand or even Malaysia and a new Honda CT125 a bike that I would like to give a go sometime.
I have looked into the process for registering a bike in Thailand which looks possible but what about availability of this sought after little adveture bike, is anyone there who has up to date information or should I sign up for GT riders and ask there? |

You could also try https://www.rideasia.net/motorcycle-forum/ They may also be able to guide you in the right direction They look quite good for getting about on! https://www.thaihonda.co.th/honda/mo...le/onoff/ct125 Just under THB 85,000 which is around £1,930 or $2,300. I think thats great, I have not really seen them before, but now I have I will be going to look at one when I am home. There are some for sale on Kaidee, but i have not worked out how to change it to English lol. https://www.kaidee.com/browse?q=Ct125 I don’t know how quick you need one but you can keep an eye on this site too for second hand ones. Although nothing at the moment. https://www.bahtsold.com/ Wayne |
Thanks for that, I owned a CT110 for a while which was fun but mine was a bit knackered and I sold it, there is no hurry I am just thinking aloud about where to go this winter and Thailand to explore on one of these and eventually ship or ride it home is an option.
I have just signed up to GTriders where there might be more information. |
Cost of shipping it back and the headache of getting it through customs and registered in the UK might be more than just renting one in Thailand and buying it locally when you're back. :) Otherwise, great plan!

Shipping could be expensive but customs and registering in the UK is fairly straight forward, we have a wonderful thing called single vehicle approval for times like this, that is how there comes to be few already on the road in the UK but they are expensive compared to Thailand.

Honda CT125 new Availability etc
I've got one on order. There is a 3 months waiting list for one in Thailand. The price is actually 86,000 baht, which includes insurance. To register a new bike as the owner requires you to have a 1 year residence visa. There are no CT125s available to rent - they are very uncommon here in Thailand. I see the same 2 or 3 every day, and no others. Hope this helps.

Hi Mark
I bought a CT 125 in November 21 in Chonburi. Thailand. You will see some advertising on Facebook marketplace. You can register in your own name and get green book. It will take some time. But can be done. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
Those Honda CT 125s are made in Thailand so I cant imagine that it would be a problem to find one available to buy in Thailand.
When it comes to registration you will need a sertificate of recidency. A landlord, hotel, guesthouse should be able to help you with that. What kind of visa you entered the country on has nothing to do with the registration process. But - yes some of those officials can be a PITA to deal with so either let the dealer help you with the registration or let an agent do it for you. Depending on which province you buy a vehicle in it can take some time to get the plates - but you are allowed to ride the bike in the province you bought it until you get plates. It will seldom be a problem even if you cross into other provinces, but you will need plates to cross into other countries. |
